Francesca Cesari Wins Our ‘Family’ Call in the Single Images Category

After announcing Sandra Mehl as one of the two winners of our Family open call in the ‘Series’ category (see her series Ilona and Maddalena here; the second winner will be announced tomorrow), it’s time to share with you the winner of the ‘Single Images’ category. Francesca Genovese, the founder and director of Francesca Maffeo Gallery and the juror of the call, has selected Italian photographer Francesca Cesari‘s tender image of a mother breastfeeding her child as the best among all submitted entries. Congratulations Francesca!
Over the course of this and next week, we will publish a selection of FotoRoom favorites from the works entered in the ‘Series’ category (subscribe to our weekly newsletter to make sure you don’t miss any of them). Similarly, we’ve decided to make a shortlist of our favorite submitted images: you can see them all by launching the gallery (turn on the captions for the credits of the individual pictures).
A big thank you to everyone who participated! Remember that there’s a new call currently open on the theme of Human Environments: the winner could see his/her work made into a photobook by indie publisher The Velvet Cell. If you have a FotoRoom membership, you can already enter. Not a member yet? Sign up here (starts at only €10/year!).
