FotoFirst — Edouard Jacquinet Shares His Uncanny Photographs of a French Alpine Village

Ciao Edouard, how are you?
Bonjour! I’m well.
What is photography for you?
It’s a good way to look at things, to understand them by staring close – so close that I may in fact discover what I thought was wrong.
What is Festina Lente about?
Festina Lente is a series of pictures taken during the past three years in a small village in Savoie, France. My main goal was to pay attention to this area and the few people living in this village. I didn’t try to make a reportage. I wanted to show a different reality because I don’t think there’s only one truth.
Where can you be found online?
At my website and on Instagram.
