Announcing the Winners of Our ‘Visual Storytelling’ Open Call

Regina Maria Anzenberger, the founder of the Vienna based AnzenbergerGallery and juror of our recently closed Visual Storytelling call, has made her choices: the winner of the call’s Single Image category is Taiwanese photographer Nancy Lin, with her photograph Mindscape 04; and the winner of the Series category is Italian photographer Agnese Morganti, with her work in progress Majorette. Congratulations girls!
As the winner of the Series category, Agnese is the selected recipient of the €3,950 worth bursary to participate in the AnzenbergerMasterclass, a 10-month training platform created by Regina Maria Anzenberger where four master photographers assist the participating emerging photographers in the development of a long-term project through workshops, seminars, portfolio reviews, etc. The deadline to join the masterclass is next 31 July: you still have time to send your application!
During the masterclass, Agnese will work more on Majorette, the project she submitted for Visual Storytelling. The series “aims at documenting majorette culture in Italy” and, in its final form, it will combine still photographs and a documentary film. At the end of the masterclass, Agnese—and all the other photographers who will participate in the 2017/2018 edition—will exhibit her work at the 2018 ViennaPhotoBookFestival.
Congratulations again to Agnese and Nancy for standing out with their work, and a big thank you to Regina Maria Anzenberger for jurying Visual Storytelling and for creating the beautiful opportunity to participate for free in the AnzenbergerMasterclass.
PS. We’ve launched a new #FotoRoomOPEN call on the theme of Belonging. The call will be juried by London and New York based commercial agency East, who will offer the winner three months of free career guidance. Enter your work today!
