Attention, ladies! The new FotoRoomOPEN edition brings you the fantastic opportunity of showing your work to the New York based, all-female photography agency ACN and the chance to be added to the group of women photographers they currently represent. The Juror — ACN

ACN (website / Instagram) is an all-female photography agency based in New York City. Established in 2016 by Amie Norris, ACN represents and fosters the careers of some very talented women photographers; their roster currently includes Annie Collinge, Jillian Freyer, Christina Holmes, Jenny Hueston, Catherine Hyland, Naho Kubota, Laura Okita, Zara Pfeifer and Carol Sachs. Through ACN’s representation, these girls have made work for top magazines such as Vogue, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, Interview Magazine and Vanity Fair, and it’s terrific—scroll through ACN’s Instagram feed and see for yourself!

The Opportunity — Get represented (or mentored) by ACN

We’re thrilled to announce that Amie Norris is offering the amazing opportunity for one woman photographer who will participate in this FotoRoomOPEN edition to join ACN’s roster of artists, thus becoming in all respects an ACN represented photographer.

Choosing a new photographer to represent is a big commitment, so Amie regrets that she won’t be able to realize the opportunity she is offering in the circumstance that, at her exclusive discretion, she did not deem any of the applicants a good fit for ACN. If such were the case, however, she would select one photographer for a three-month mentorship of the kind she already does with younger female artists. The mentorship would consist of three live sessions with her (one per month) covering topics such as outlining a career strategy, editing your work and providing advice on pricing and promotion; and the possibility to reach out to her via email throughout the entire duration of the mentorship.

Amie may also need to speak directly with a few shortlisted applicants after looking at all the submissions, so please expect the possibility to jump on a call to discuss your work with her.

Who can participate, and in what categories

Due to ACN being an all-female agency, this FotoRoomOPEN edition is exceptionally only open to women photographers. Women photographers of any age and nationality can apply, and are free to submit work regardless of subject, style or approach.

Only female FotoRoom members can enter FotoRoomOPEN | ACN edition. Members can enter in three categories:

— Single Images (open to both Amateur and Pro members)
— Series (open to Pro members only)
— Portfolio (open to Pro members only)

Amateur members may only submit to the Single Images category, while Pro members can submit in one, two or all three categories.

Please note that only participants in the Series and/or Portfolio category are eligible for the opportunity offered by ACN.

The winning entries, as well as a selection of shortlisted submissions, will be published on FotoRoom’s website and Instagram feed.

Submission Guidelines

Entrants in the Single Images category should send a maximum of 3 images.

Entrants in the Series category should send a maximum of 20 images from the same project.

Entrants in the Portfolio category should send a maximum of 20 images not necessarily from the same project (think of it as a selection of your best work).

The images should be in .JPG format and no more than a few MB each, and ideally 1440px wide (for both horizontal and vertical images). The submissions must be sent via WeTransfer to calls@fotoroom.co (we recommend you copy and paste the email address in the WeTransfer box to avoid typos!). Along with the images, you should also send a text or PDF document including the following information about you:

— Your full name
— A short text, introduction or project statement (if you’re submitting to the Series category)
— A link to your portfolio website (if you have one)
— An email address we can use if we need to get in contact
— The email address you used to sign up as a FotoRoom member (in case it’s different from the contact email)

Copyright and Terms of Use

All submitted images must be in the sole ownership of the entrant and not infringe on the copyright of any other party; full ownership of the copyright for every submitted image remains with its author.

By submitting your images to FotoRoomOPEN | ACN edition you grant FotoRoom the possibility to use the submitted images—properly credited—on its website and social media with the exclusive purpose of promoting your work and the FotoRoom platform.

The deadline

FotoRoomOPEN | ACN edition will close next 31 March 2020 at midnight (Central European Time). The winners will be announced in April 2020.
