In Kiev, Everyone Took Up Arms for Their Country












Priests, carpenters, supermarket clerks, hospital directors, cooks, teachers, security guards: over the last few months, everyone in Kiev took up arms to fight against the authoritarian government of Viktor Yanukovich.
These striking portraits of ordinary Ukrainians ready to protest were taken by French photographer Jean Marc Caimi and Italian photographer Valentina Piccinni for agency Redux Pictures. The whole series can be seen here.
