The Rockabilly Culture in Harajuku, Tokyo















Harajuku is a particularly trendy zone in Tokyo, and if you’re lucky enough, while strolling in the area you might stumble upon a group of rockabilly lovers dancing in the streets in black leather jackets and pants, their hair carefully styled in a pompadour haircut. The legend of Elvis Presley stretched as far as here, and has created a lively subculture of rockabilly junkies who gather in public spaces to dance to the beat of classic rock hits.
