With its 2,860 km, the Danube is the second longest river in Europe. It originates in the Black Forest in Germany, and flows through nine more Central and Eastern European countries (Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova) before emptying into the Black Sea.
