If it weren’t for the captions, you probably couldn’t tell how long each of the couples portrayed in Mexican photographer Arturo Soto series The Distance have been together, or how much in love they are.
Besides the playful aspect of the work, a deeper question is posed by Soto’s portraits: how much photography can be trusted in its representation of feelings?
