Cosmetic Girls — Incredible Portraits Stress the Relationship between Korean Girls and Beauty










Much different from the Russian teenage girls we’ve seen yesterday in Olya Ivanova’s series Weirdo are the Korean girls in these outstanding portraits by photographer Hein-Kuhn Oh from the series Cosmetic Girls.
With tidier haircuts, more understated but no less heavy make-up and no tattoos, these girls seem to strive to look older than they actually are; but what strikes the most are their stiff poses and near lifelessness. More than adolescents, these teenage girls look like dolls, or even worse, robots.
