Everything Was Forever — Ollie Ma’ Conceptualizes the Inequality of Capitalism
For today’s Cameo we’re having 23 year-old British photographer Ollie Ma’. Ollie shares with us Everything Was Forever, a conceptual photography series that reflects on the negative sides of societies based on a capitalist economy. See here for all the photographers who previously made a cameo in FotoRoom.
Ciao Ollie, thank you for this interview. How are you?
I’m good, thank you for having me.
What is photography for you?
I use photography to create narratives that question the structures of society.
What is Everything Was Forever about?
Everything Was Forever attempts to understand the contradictions that arise when society is structured by capital. For me, the work questions most importantly the idea of progress: the majority are limited to minor victories over nature, when meaningful progress, such as an increased efficiency of production and a faster acquisition of capital, is experienced only by a wealthy minority.
Where can you be found online?
